Born in Croydon London Livramento was always a talented footballer. At the age of 8 Livramento signed for Chelsea's under 9 team at the famous Cobham academy. The London club was always criticised for the lack of youth within the side, ever since the legendary John Terry was implemented into the first team from the academy. Chelsea went multiple seasons without trusting their youth players with many being sold on or sent on multiple loans. Present Chelsea star Andreas Christensen was the first academy graduate to nail a spot in Chelsea's first team squad in the 17/18 season, after successful loan spells at German club Borussia Monchengladbach.
'La Cobham' as Chelsea fans call their talent factory began to turn tirelessly ever since Christensen's arrival. After continuous success in FA youth cups Chelsea starlets began to earn their chances. After Maurizio Sarri's appointment at the start of the 18/19 season Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi were both given important roles. The young Chelsea boys shone in the Blues' Europa league winning side and began to cement themselves within the starting line-up.
The transfer ban loomed for Chelsea in the 19/20 season, after losing their star man Eden Hazard and having no opportunity to spend in the market Chelsea had to look towards their youth. Frank Lampard and Jody Morris promoted the like of Abraham, Mount, Tomori, James and Gilmour to name just a few. Four of the five mentioned all having had experience in the Championship and looked to impress in the Premier League. Currently James and Mount are two of Chelsea's outstanding performers and are irreplaceable at the club. Both Tomori and Abraham had clear talent and were sold for a profit of around 60 million pounds. This completes the conveyer belt of youth at Chelsea, you either make it in the first team or you are sold for a profit, it is a pretty impressive club when it comes to transfer business.
In recent years every academy prospect has turned out to be a gem, and it is no different when it comes to Livramento. After winning academy player of the year and knowing first team action at Chelsea may be limited Livramento looked elsewhere. At Southampton he found his new home a place where he could fulfil his true potential and reach limitless heights. After a stunning home debut performance against United who knows how good this kid may go on to be. The Southampton and England fullback may be one of the best for the future and is definitely one to look out for.
