Predicting the Future (Premier League matchday 28)

Forest vs Newcastle UTD

1-2

Newcastle flew through the start of the season, establishing themselves as serious top four contenders. However, one win in six games has dropped them into 5th place. Forest themselves have been inconsistent meaning they sit just above the relegation zone. The City Ground will be bouncing, but the high flying Magpies should pick up a hard fought win in this game.

1-0

I think Newcastle wilstruggle here at a resilient Forest who thrive at home. Gibbs-White has really come into his own and he will control this game.

Villa vs Bournemouth

2-0

Bournemouth picked up a phenomenal result against a lacklustre Liverpool side last week. The Cherries will be brimming with confidence, with a win almost guaranteed to get them out of the relegation places. There will not be a lack of fight from the away side, yet Villa are unbeaten in their last three since their thrilling game vs Arsenal (3-2L). The Villains should be too strong for this struggling Bournemouth team, and should pick up all three points. Ollie Watkins masterclass incoming.

2-0

Bournemouth have had a few brilliant results against the big sides as of late, but that’s why I think a lower profile game will trip them up in their bid for survival. Villa progressing under Emery.

Brentford vs Leicester

3-1

There is no other word to describe this Leicester side apart from atrocious. They seem un-energetic, uninspired and are not aided by the quality of their goalkeeper Danny Ward. Brentford have been brilliant this season, Thomas Frank's side can definitely push for European football. They have quality, flair and I cannot see a scenario where Ivan Toney does not tear this Leicester team to shreds.

4-1

Fortress Brentford will claim another victim this weekend. Leicester have underperformed all year and it’ll be no surprise when they drop yet more points in West London.

Southampton vs Spurs

1-0

Caretaker boss Rueben Selles has done a fantastic job at the Saints thus far. Relegation looked inevitable under Nathan Jones but in recent weeks there has been a glimmer of hope. Great results against Chelsea, Leicester and Man UTD have meant that Southampton are only two points off safety. Spurs are somehow still in the Champions League places, even though they have performed like a mid table side for the majority of the season. Son is not firing, Conte seems disinterested and Tottenham's season is slowly imploding. Southampton's last few fixtures have been decided by fine margins and I expect more of the same.

2-0

Spurs have been diabolical all season and they will get pummelled on the South Coast. Ward-Prowse will have a field day against their disorganised and decrepit defence.

Wolves vs Leeds

2-1

A massive game at the bottom of the table, one that could be pivotal in the race for survival. A poor run of results for Wolves have kept them dangerously close to the relegation places. A promising side who are seriously underperforming and must get their act together and quickly. Leeds have been equally abysmal, winning one in their last six and sitting very uncomfortably in the bottom three. Wolves have a quality manager and a decent squad, they should outclass this Leeds side, who's only shining light in recent weeks has been the very talented Gnonto.

2-0

A low scoring game you’d think given recent form. Last year Leeds got a dramatic late winner at Molineux, but I don’t think history will repeat itself. Wolves to pick up a routine win.

Chelsea vs Everton

2-0

A good run of performances and results for Chelsea have finally seen the new owner's vision being implemented. A fluid, free-flowing and defensively solid side, who look unstoppable on their day, especially with the new talent they have acquired. Dyche is picking up points here and there for Everton, yet their form needs serious improvement if they are to stay up. A miserable few years for the Toffees has seen a massive fall from grace. A side that used to fight with the Premier League's elite are now fighting for their lives. I cannot see how they are going to stop this in-form Chelsea side this weekend.

3-0

Chelsea have finally turned a corner, and this imminent win will build their confidence even more. Dyche will make it tough but I think there is an air of inevitability about this one.

Arsenal vs Palace

2-0

Arsenal's title charge looks to be one that will go til the very end. They have pulled results out from multiple positions of uncertainty. They do not just have incredible players but they also have an incredible team. With the likes of Saka and Martinelli ripping it up this season, Arteta really knows how to get the best out of his players. In comparison Palace's season could take a turn for the worse, this is not a fixture they will be looking forward to play. Vieira gone, relegation looming, Palace could be in serious trouble in the remaining weeks of the season. Arsenal have to win this game, and they will comfortably.

5-0

Arsenal were poor in midweek, but dominant at Fulham. Palace are hopeless and now managerless. The home side will absolutely smack the visitors out the park on Sunday.
