Predicting the Future (Premier League Matchday 3)

Manchester City vs Arsenal

3-0

After a 5-0 thumping of Norwich, title hopefuls Manchester City are expected to beat this Arsenal side with ease. With Grealish hitting form and De Bruyne on the pitch I think it is safe to say the game may be over before it even starts.

0-2

Sambi Lokonga the Reincarnated Santi Cazorla the one to watch for this one. Spare a thought for us gooners making this trip on Saturday morning. It could prove to be a long day. Nonetheless I’ve gone with a win to Arteta’s merry men.

Aston Villa vs Brentford

3-1

Brentford have got off to a fantastic start in the Premier league. Four points from six without conceding is not bad going for your first ever season in the league. However, they have not faced a side with the quality that Villa have, and I expect it to be too much for them to handle.

2-0

Brentford to face the harsh reality of Premier League football. Villa looked impressive at home last weekend, and will be looking to build comfortably. Ivan Toney will be hungry to get off the mark, but the Villa defence will prevail.

Brighton vs Everton

2-0

The potential surprise package in the Premier League this season have had a flawless start. With a top-class manager and a firing Neal Maupay I think Everton may be in for a shock this matchday.

1-1

I think Brighton have looked mighty impressive. Everton were less than convincing at Leeds, but Demarai Gray proved his worth. DCL and Maupay to cancel each other out in this one for me.

Newcastle vs Southampton

2-1

Two relegation candidates go head-to-head; both have had poor starts to the season so any points are crucial to spark some form and relieve pressure. Southampton are capable of getting a result but with the Toon Army rallying behind them expect Newcastle to get over the line.

1-0

Not an appetising fixture for me. An important game for both sides, looking to get off the mark. Southampton were sturdy last Sunday, but Newcastle have a lot more to offer.

Norwich vs Leicester

1-3

Norwich always seems to enjoy short spells in the Premier league, and it is likely to be a similar story this time around as well. Leicester are far too strong for a relatively unknown Norwich side, although they are yet to start all their new signings. Still, I expect Leicester’s experience and class to propel them to victory.

2-1

Carrow Road will be rocking for this one. Leicester are a strong side but I fancy an upset. Many are quick to write Norwich off this season, but a couple of results like this, I think they can stay up, especially given their impressive window.

West Ham vs Crystal Palace

3-0

Top of the table for only the second time in their Premier league history, this West Ham side look dangerous. With Benrahma hitting blistering form along with Antonio this below par Palace side should not stand a chance.

3-1

Crystal Palace under Vieira is a ship waiting to sink. He has never been an apt manager for the Premier League, and their poor start has shown that. West Ham, however, have looked formidable and free scoring. A favourable Europa League group will only make them more at ease. This should be bread and butter for the Hammers.

Liverpool vs Chelsea

1-2

These two early season Premier league frontrunners have the opportunity to steal points from one another. Liverpool look increasingly sharp with Jota and Mo Salah shining. However, Chelsea’s class and top management can mastermind a win at the intimidating Anfield. It is a dangerous game playing a high line with the likes of Werner and Lukaku around. Van Dijk’s resurgence against Lukaku should also be thrilling. The game to watch this weekend for sure.

1-1

A mouth watering encounter at Anfield. Call me boring, but these two have looked terrific ,making it impossible to pick a winner. Sitting on the fence with no shame here.

Burnley vs Leeds

1-1

Is it even possible to predict an exciting Burnley game? Although solid and experienced survivors they will always remain a dull side to watch. Leeds have had an average start to the season gaining only a point and I do not expect it to get much better.

1-0

Leeds’ woes on the road will continue. I thought Burnley were outstanding at Liverpool, and have a lot more to offer. Leeds are a dynamic and unorthodox side, but Sean Dyche will have other plans for them. Barnes and Wood to blow away the whites.

Tottenham vs Watford

3-0

After an exhilarating first game victory I think it is fair to say Watford will struggle for the rest of the season. Spurs as usual are setting up their fans with false hope so I expect them to demolish this Watford side and struggle later on in the season.

0-2

Nuno’s Spurs have not looked sharp at all yet this season. Watford look a decent outlet, and should go to the Lane with high confidence in their abilities against an out of sorts Spurs.

Wolves vs Manchester United

1-3

Wolves are yet to pick up a point this season or score a goal, even though they have played well in both games. It is not an easy start to the season having to play Leicester, Spurs and United so I do not think they should be too worried if they get 0 points from 9. Ole is not the managerial mastermind that some may think; with a better manager I think United would challenge for it all. I think it will be fast paced, exciting and United will gain a hard-fought victory.

0-3

Wolves have not looked bad by any means so far. Having said that, Man Utd have a big point to prove after a poor display at Southampton. With Cr7 set to be watching from the stands, they will be sure to shine at Molineux.
